Life is great, no matter what, - participant of the Retreat for adults with disabilities OneWay 2019

42 people with disabilities and 20 members of their families took part in the One Way camp. It was held on the territory of Fimiam Evangelical Church Retreat Center in Zaozerne village, Liuboml district, on 23-27 July, 2019. Many participants came without any relatives and needed help from other people due to their health problems, and we had 39 volunteers helped them.

Morning exercises, funny games, swimming in the Small and Big Zgorany Lakes, evening programmes and fellowship around the campfire, and many other great activities made it possible for the adults to feel young again despite all the different health problems. People were able to enjoy the rest in full.

The participants of the Retreat were all from Volyn, Lviv or Kyiv and had only the best impressions. Vira Tsiapalo who resides in Lviv mentioned:

– One Way Retreat has helped me to perceive deeply the value of every person on this Earth, to understand how important even the smallest good deed is. Whether it be a smile, kind word, encouragement, gratitude, support, sincerity, understanding, openness, pr love. I was able to relax and feel my heart with that blessed atmosphere that the camp was filled with, find new meaning, new vision of myself and everything surrounding me. In such moments you realize that life is great no matter what.

Wonderful time always passes quickly and it is so difficult to say “Good bye!” to the new good friends. That is why, in order to give people with disabilities the opportunity to have fellowship again, to remember the summer adventures and simply do a lot of more interesting things together, the New Opportunities Club will continue its work in the fall. So, we invite everyone to join these meetings that will be held once every three months.
